The Spanish has still a possibility to refer to a context
with como (how). The relative
adverb has - unlike the interrogative pronoun cómo
- no accent. In English these constructions are
formed with the way.
Lo
hizo como
lo había aprendido.
= He did it the way he had learnt it. Cada uno lo hace
como
puede.
= Everyone does it the way he can. Cada uno habla como
le da la gana.
= Everyone speaks the way he feels like. Si cada uno habla
como
quiere, se corre el riesgo de romper esa
unidad.
= If everyone speaks the way he like there
is the risk that this unity is broken. Cada uno vive como
quiere.
= Everyone lives the way he (or she!) likes.
