20.2.3 Freedom of choice depending on the demanding person

Estaba tan enojada, que el psiquiatra presente le decía que le convienía llorar.
= She was so enraged that her psychiatrist said that she should cry a bit.
or
El coche estaba tan estropeado que el policía nos dijo que más valía dejarlo ahí.
= The car was so broken that the police officer told us that we should leave it there.


We see that in these cases the degree of freedom of choice is higher. You can do what the person is suggesting / demanding or you can leave it.
